Conscious Trekking

Conscious Journeys offer a number of naturalistic walking trips to discover the biological and cultural diversity of the asian countries where it works.

Trekking is the perfect way to explore cultural and natural heritages of a country, to get in touch with the real essence of the places visited and to find unseen and untouched places.

In this light, the goal of the trip becomes not only the destination itself but even the increasing awareness gained during these trips of slow trekking, real journeys of self-discovery.
The itineraries are usually easy to follow, because the aim is not to reach the summit the highest peaks or to perform heavy physical exercises.
Nature hiking, slow trekking in tropical forests or in montainous and hilly areas, aim to show the different cultures of Asia, promoting a real encounter with local communities and increasing the knowledge of lifestyles so different from ours, respecting the Earth and the cultural peculiarities of local people.

Trekking itirenaries can be itinerant (ie overnight stays in different places every day), as in Burma and Thailand, or daily hiking tour with overnight stays in the same place every night as the Andaman Islands (India), Bhutan and Sri Lanka.

“Walking meditation is practicing meditation while walking. It can bring you joy and peace while you practice it.[…] All sorrows and worries can drop away while you are walking. To have peace of mind, to attain self-liberation, learn to walk in this way. It is not difficult. You can do it. Anyone can do it who has some degree of mindfulness and a true intention to be happy”.
