KO PHRA THONG

Ko Phra Thong is located in the Andaman Sea off the west coast of Thailand. The closest town is the port town of Khuraburi, situated on the mainland about 10km east. Ko Phra Thong is the closest island to Thailand, with one of the best dive site – Richelieu Rock – as well as the stunning Koh Tachai & the Surin Islands. Diving on the Andaman side of Thailand reveals the best marine life the country has to offer. On this western coast you can discover the sensational underwater vistas of the Similan and Surin Islands. Also nearby, world top dive site Richelieu Rock will please the most discerning diver with its consistently fascinating macro life and regular whale shark visits. Visitors to the region would certainly be missing out if they didn’t visit the sensational Surin Islands. With clear warm waters and the broadest range of hard corals in Thailand they are indeed a national treasure. The shallow bays make it a great place for a family snorkeling adventure.

The island of Koh Phra Thong is located in a strategic place, from here you can move on the nearby islands for excursions, including the famous islands of Koh Surin for the special visit to its National Park and the tribal village of Moken.
When to go
Thailand enjoys a tropical climate. It is typically high in both temperature and humidity with yearly monsoons. November till April sees the most accommodating weather for guests to Thailand. There is now low rainfall, sunny skies and the temperature flirts with 30°C. During April and May the heat intensifies and humidity rises. Clear skies are still common, but as the weeks pass clouds start to bubble up during the late morning and afternoon rain becomes more frequent. June to September sees the full onset of the monsoon. Wild storms are commonplace with heavy precipitation.
Surin islands
KOH LIPE

If you are dreaming an exotic Thai island, you are probably dreaming a place like Koh Lipe, with its palm fringed empty beaches fading into aquamarine waters, lush greenery. Often said to have the most beautiful beaches in Thailand, Koh Lipe cab be really considered as a dreamy combination of remoteness (far fewer tourists than Phuket or Samui), picture-perfect beaches and deserted islands. It is a small island in the Southern part of the Thai Andaman Sea near the border of Malaysia. It is famous for its white sandy beaches, crystal clear water and abundant marine life.
Koh Lipe or Ko Lipe, pronounced as Ko Lee-pae, is the southern most island in Thailand and it is one of the several islands located in the beautiful Tarutao National Marine Park.
Koh Tarutao Marine National Park is definitely considered one of Thailand’s most exquisite, unspoiled regions, encompassing 51 islands blanketed by well-preserved rain forest teeming with fauna, surrounded by healthy coral reefs and radiant white beaches.
Lipe island was first discovered by the Chao Ley (or Sea Gypsies) who would travel from island to island in search of the best fishing in the areas to feed themselves and their tribes. The Chao Ley eventually found a permanent home on Koh Lipe and were given a grant to settle on the island’s eastern beach and have since remained there.
The island is small enough to explore on foot, perhaps hand-in-hand with your loved one. Pattaya Beach is the busiest of the beaches and home to most of the island’s nightlife, while Sunset Beach is the quietest and most secluded. Snorkeling, diving and tours of nearby islets are readily available, although you might prefer to spend your time getting couples’ massages at one of the exclusive resorts.

When to go
Being on the Andaman coast Koh Lipe enjoys the dry season from November to March, while rainy season starts from April to October. The rainy season hits the Andaman coast of the southern peninsula harder than anywhere else in the country, so the best time to visit the island is from November to March, which is also considered peak season.
KOH TAO

Koh Tao is one of the best scuba diving destination of choice in Thailand. The perfect white-sand beaches which ring the hilly 21 km² island are surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Thailand. The island is located on the east side of the Surat Thani coastline with two neighboring islands, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui.
The vibrant coral reefs are home to a wide range of exciting and colorful sea creatures, including turtles, naturally. Known for its large population of sea turtles, the island of Koh Tao is one of the best places to watch sea turtles in their natural habitats. Thus, tourists can expect an abundance of marine life and beautiful coral reefs. The clear warm waters of the island also add to its charm and allure. Travelers can also expect a beautiful landscape characterized by hills, white sandy beaches, and picturesque sceneries.
The island offers a vast array of activities also for the non-diver. If you don’t want to dive but still enjoy the water, there are literally dozens of pristine snorkelling locations, just off the shoreline. Also, with several hills and hiking paths, Koh Tao is an ideal place for those who like to strap on some walking shoes and get away from it all.

When to go
The best time to visit Koh Tao is anytime between May and October. Though the island of Koh Tao looks inviting year around, it receives high numbers of visitors between the months of July and early September. Between the months of March and May, the island experiences its hottest temperatures. For those wanting to catch a glimpse of whale sharks, this is the best time to visit the island. The best overall time to visit the island is during the month of June. In this month, the island is quieter and the waters are flat and calm.
KOH YAO NOI

Koh Yao Noi is located between the island of Phuket & Krabi on the Thai mainland. Less than an hour away by speedboat from the hustle & bustle of the heavily burdened tourist destinations of Phuket & Krabi, the lush, tropical Koh Yao Noi is still largely untouched.
