12 days

This special itinerary has been designed with the aim of discovering the main cultural, spiritual, and traditional aspects of Nepal in a 14-day tour. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of this extraordinary country, visiting the Kathmandu valley and its numerous historical sites, recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. The cultural and historical richness of the valley made it to be the cultural and politics hearth of Nepal. Here you will have the chance to visit many of the main attractions of Kathmandu, such as Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Monkey Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa and many others. In Kathmandu you will visit the Kumari Ghar, the charming little palace that has been the home of the highly revered “child goddess” for centuries. Believed to be the earthly incarnation of the goddess Kali, the Kumari leaves her palace on rare occasions, where she is worshiped on the streets of the city.
You will witness the Aarati Ceremony (celebration with lights) at the Bank of Bagmati River. Aarati is a ritual with chanting of Vedic mantras, ringing of bells, burning of incense, and lighting of oil lamps: a band will sing hymns in praise of God, playing of classical instruments, keeping the people spellbound throughout.
This itinerary is also a unique opportunity to get to know the local culture and traditions in depth, interacting with the locals, tasting extraordinary typical dishes while you will be hosted by a local family in a traditional village. Here you will learn more about village’s life, and you will also have the chance to spend a night in a monastery, taking part in chanting program in Namobuddha to learn more about the spirituality of Nepal.
You will also take part in many experiences in close contact with nature and with the breathtaking landscapes that only the Himalayan chain can offer: you will participate in trekking and walks surrounded by the highest peaks on the earth, in a spectacular place off the traditional routes where you can regenerate yourself by breathing clean and admiring beautiful sceneries and unforgettable panoramic views.
Before returning to kathmandu for your international flight, you can enjoy many nature activities in the jungle at Chitawan National Park, including: bird watching, boating, jeep safari and, of course, forest walks which will allow you to admire the immense local biodiversity.
