13 days
This exclusive itinerary, which we like to call an eco-luxury experience, has been carefully designed by the experts of Conscious Journeys in collaboration with local hoteliers, artisans, and guides who truly live and love their land. Thanks to their authentic knowledge, each stop becomes a genuine encounter, capable of telling the story of India through the eyes of those who preserve it.
The journey unfolds between legendary cities and natural parks, staying in eco-sustainable accommodations and historic residences, immersed in nature or set among ancient ruins, where every detail has been chosen to respect and enhance the surrounding environment. Far from standardized tourist routes, every place is a story, every experience a bridge between culture, spirituality, and sustainability.
The eco-luxury experiences are designed to let you enjoy the best that nature has to offer in a sustainable way: it could be a dinner under the stars made with organic, locally grown ingredients; a rural cooking class; a stay in a historic family residence or in splendid eco-resorts hidden within natural settings that would otherwise remain inaccessible. We have curated exclusive experiences in all destinations, choosing unique eco-luxury properties that allow you to truly feel what it means to live in close contact with nature. Usually set in some of Asia’s most pristine and precious landscapes, these resorts actively contribute to protecting and preserving those places for future generations.
From Delhi, the pulsating heart and monumental capital, begins a journey through the history and soul of Northern India. The visit to the ancient Mughal city, with its mosques, bazaars, and Gandhi’s memorial sites, gives way to lively Jaipur, the Pink City, where time stands still among royal fortresses, astronomical observatories, and princely residences. Here, a stay immersed in 13 acres of unspoiled nature offers intimate and extraordinary moments: bathing with elephants, jeep explorations through rural villages, and dinners under the stars in the company of these gentle giants.
The journey continues to Ranthambhore, one of the country’s most fascinating sanctuaries for tiger sightings. In an elegant eco-lodge, you prepare for close contact with the wildest nature. Between one safari and another, there’s time for relaxation, to discover the flora, and to listen to stories from expert naturalists.
The Taj Mahal awaits in Agra: a stop here is a must to be enchanted by one of the Seven Wonders of the World, before continuing on to the sculpted temples of Khajuraho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the timeless poetry of their forms.
At Bandhavgarh, in the heart of the Madhya Pradesh jungle, a stay in a zero-impact eco-lodge is the chance to explore the forest at a slow pace, among butterflies, walks, local food, and evening meetings with park naturalists. Here the tigers are queens, but not the only ones: deer, panthers, bison, and hundreds of bird species complete the rare and precious biodiversity of the region.
The journey ends in Kanha National Park, a model of environmental and community management. The selected lodges promote regenerative and responsible tourism, supported by ESG principles, involving local communities in every aspect of the work and protecting natural resources. Kanha is also the place that inspired Kipling for his Jungle Book: lush forests, four-horned antelopes, rivers, savannas, and sunsets that seem suspended in time.
At every moment, what you experience is not just a trip, but an exchange: with people, nature, and culture. In this itinerary, luxury is not ostentation, but listening and care. Sleeping in a tented camp where the wind carries the stories of the trees, tasting dishes lovingly prepared with local ingredients, stopping to chat with an artisan, or walking through the jungle with those who have always known it: this is what eco-luxury means to us.
A journey where you discover an authentic, moving, profound India.
A journey you will never forget.

Overnight in Delhi. (B)
This journey has been designed to offer a complete experience among historic cities, nature reserves, and rural communities, combining the discovery of extraordinary places with the awareness of traveling responsibly and sustainably.
The accommodations selected in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are concrete examples of hospitality that respects both the environment and the local social fabric. In the eco-luxury lodges of Jaipur, Ranthambhore, Bandhavgarh, and Kanha, the architecture incorporates natural materials and traditional techniques, reducing the impact on the land. In particular, the properties in Bandhavgarh and Kanha employ more than 70% of their staff from surrounding villages, ensuring training, stable employment, and the promotion of artisanal skills.
Many of the objects and details that enrich the stay — such as bamboo dispensers, terracotta tableware, and handcrafted furnishings — are made by local cooperatives. The lodges adhere to strict environmental practices: reducing consumption, growing organic vegetables, eliminating single-use plastics, and managing waste sustainably.
The planned experiences also reflect this philosophy: safaris in the national parks are conducted by expert naturalists and strictly respect the rhythms and habitats of the wildlife. Visits to villages in Khajuraho, Bandhavgarh, and Kanha are designed as authentic encounters, without intrusion, to learn about the traditions and daily life of local communities.
Choosing this itinerary means contributing to the conservation of precious ecosystems, supporting rural economies beyond mass tourism circuits, and discovering a more conscious and respectful way of traveling. A journey that not only leaves memories, but also a positive impact on the people and places encountered along the way.
To make the most of this journey and avoid unpleasant situations, we invite you to follow a few simple rules of behavior that respect the local culture.
In the rural areas and tribal villages of Madhya Pradesh, as well as in temples and sacred places, it is important to maintain a sober and respectful attitude. Avoid public displays of affection, such as kissing and hugging, and choose discreet clothing that covers shoulders and legs — both out of respect for traditions and to protect yourself from the climate.
Smoking is prohibited in public places and considered offensive in many contexts. If necessary, smoke only in designated areas or, if allowed, in your hotel room.
For safaris in Ranthambhore, Bandhavgarh, and Kanha, we recommend lightweight but long-sleeved clothing, comfortable trousers, and closed shoes, preferably in neutral tones to blend into the environment. A hat, sunglasses, and insect repellent will also be useful, especially at sunset.
Keep in mind that the time zone is GMT/UTC +5:30 — you may feel slight jet lag upon arrival. Setting your watch to Indian time already during the flight, adjusting your meals accordingly, and staying awake until the evening of the first day can help you synchronize more quickly.
This journey will bring you into contact with a profoundly different culture, with its own rhythms, customs, and values. We invite you to approach every moment with curiosity and openness, leaving behind preconceptions and expectations.
Embracing the spirituality of temples and mosques, the stillness of the jungle, the warmth of the people, and the variety of landscapes will allow you to discover an authentic, rich, and surprising India — beyond any stereotype.
With the right mindset, you will return home with unique emotions, precious memories, and the awareness of having experienced something truly special.

For this experience, we have selected beautiful heritage hotels and eco-resorts, representing the very best choice in each destination. All selected accommodations will allow you to truly discover the essence of the place you are staying in and to experience the genuine hospitality of Kerala. Moreover, each property has been carefully chosen based on social and environmental impact criteria.
In particular, for each destination we have selected the following properties:
Delhi: Haveli Dharampura
Haveli Dharampura is truly one of a kind, being the only authentic luxury heritage-style hotel in the former Mughal capital, Old Delhi. Built around 200 years ago, Haveli Dharampura takes its name from its location. ‘Dharampura’ comes from the word ‘Dharam’, meaning religion, due to the presence of numerous Jain temples and the building’s proximity to the historic Jama Masjid.
The 14 beautifully designed rooms offer the opportunity to relive the Mughal era through their architectural beauty, while still enjoying the most modern comforts. The meticulous restoration of the property is one of the reasons why Delhi has been proposed for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
At the Haveli, cuisine, culture, rituals and daily life come together to paint an evocative and timeless picture of experiences. Staying here allows you to see Old Delhi through the eyes of a true local: the morning sounds and rituals — from the muezzin’s call to prayer at dawn from the minarets of Jama Masjid, to the whirling wings of homing pigeons, the kites diving in the late afternoon sky, and the lively evening bustle of locals and alleys preparing for a short night — all come together to create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Alternatively Delhi: Maidens Hotel
After the mutiny of 1857, the British abandoned the Walled City and settled in the area just to the north, which they called Civil Lines. By 1890, European residents — including railway officials and factory managers — had moved to Civil Lines, where more than 110 grand colonial houses were built. During this period, three hotels also opened: Maidens Hotel, the Swiss Hotel and the Cecil.
With a history spanning over a century and an extraordinarily captivating sense of hospitality, Maidens Hotel offers a journey back in time. Established in 1903 as one of Delhi’s first hotels and recognized as a Heritage Hotel in 1994, the Maidens is a majestic survivor of a golden era — a time when steam ruled the seas and railways, empires thrived, and the rich, the famous and the noble used it as a grand stage. Its sweeping driveway and imposing façade offer a glimpse into its star-studded past.
The architecture is a splendid testament to the old-world European charm, with strong colonial influences.
A stay at the Maidens Hotel is ethereal and unparalleled: a truly enriching historical and cultural experience. Every corner of the hotel has a story to tell — whether it’s about the majestic royal families of the princely states, the Delhi Durbar with its coronation before independence, or the days of British Raj rule.
Jaipur: Dera Ameer
Located on the outskirts of Jaipur, nestled among the Aravalli hills, Dera Amer is much more than just a place to stay: it is an eco-luxury retreat where nature, history, and deep-rooted traditions come together. Born from the vision of a Rajput family, guardians of these lands for generations, Dera Amer is a private camp that offers an exclusive and authentic experience just a stone’s throw from the Amber Fort — yet worlds away from the bustle of the city.
In this hidden corner of Rajasthan, amid 13 acres of lush forest, wildlife, and primordial silence, guests can experience direct contact with nature without sacrificing comfort. The spacious, elegantly furnished tents are inspired by colonial-era camps but are built with sustainable materials and managed according to strict environmental conservation principles.
Dera Amer promotes responsible tourism by involving the local communities in every aspect of the experience: from the cuisine, prepared with ingredients grown just steps away, to the naturalists who lead the activities.
Here, you can dine under the stars accompanied by elephants that have been rescued and lovingly cared for, explore jungle trails by jeep, or simply walk to the nearby village to meet smiling artisans and children. There is no fence between the camp and nature — only a respectful, ongoing dialogue.

Surrounded by two lush Sal hills, within the majestic Bandhavgarh National Park — the best place to spot tigers — and set amidst the greenery of the flourishing village of Rancha, Kings Lodge offers discerning travelers the very best of a luxurious lifestyle in the heart of the wilderness.
This 14-hectare estate, covered with natural forest, lies at the heart of the tiger’s realm. Yet, its idyllic location provides peace and serenity in the midst of a thriving forest. Staying here gives you the chance to take part in numerous forest activities, such as jeep safaris inside the tiger reserve, night patrols or night safaris in the buffer zone, hikes, and village visits to discover the culture of the region’s indigenous tribes.
Kanha: Kipling Camp
Nestled in the green heart of Madhya Pradesh, Kipling Camp is an eco-friendly retreat founded by naturalists in 1982. Located near Kanha National Park, it offers rustic cottages and elegant tents perfectly blended with nature. Famous for being home to Tara, the rescued elephant, the camp offers safaris, jungle walks, and dinners under the stars. A simple, authentic place full of spirit, where the jungle meets tradition.
Alternatively Kanha: Earth Lodge
the buffer zone of Kanha National Park. Inspired by Gond tribal architecture, it is built with local materials and in harmony with the surrounding environment, utilizing less than 10% of the natural area.
The 12 bungalow-style villas are spacious and comfortable, featuring verandas overlooking the jungle, en-suite bathrooms, king-size beds, and furnishings made of stone and recycled wood. Some also offer outdoor bathtubs, perfect for relaxing to the sounds of the forest.
The kitchen serves local and international farm-to-table dishes, thanks to shared gardens with nearby communities, while the property promotes sustainable energy and zero plastic. Activities include safaris, nature walks, cycling, an outdoor pool, and evenings by the fire, with experiences guided by expert naturalists.
Earth Lodge is the ideal choice for those seeking an authentic, elegant, and understated stay in the Kanha jungle, where luxury blends seamlessly with respect for nature.
For all overland transfers, from Delhi to Kanha, private cars or air-conditioned minivans are provided to ensure comfort and optimized travel times, even over long distances. The transfer from Agra to Khajuraho is on board the modern Vande Bharat Express high-speed train, a practical and comfortable solution for crossing the heart of India. From Jabalpur to Delhi, a domestic flight is included, while the safaris within the national parks are conducted in authorized 4×4 jeeps, driven by experienced drivers and naturalists.
The best time to experience this journey is between October and March, when the weather is dry and pleasant, the days are clear, and the temperatures are perfect for exploring cities, temples, and natural parks.
The ideal season is between November and February: the air is crisp, wildlife is more easily spotted during safaris, and even in the big cities the climate remains comfortable.
In the summer months, April and May, temperatures rise significantly, making visits more demanding, especially in inland areas such as Kanha and Bandhavgarh. From June to September, the monsoon season brings heavy rains and lush landscapes, but it can limit some outdoor activities.
To fully enjoy all the experiences — from safaris in the parks to walks in the villages and moments of relaxation in eco-luxury resorts — we recommend traveling during the winter months, when each stage can be appreciated at the right pace and in maximum comfort.
